Un articolo del 14 Ottobre da "Kommersant" dice che il gas naturale russo diretto in Europa non potrà aumentare (o forse non si vorrà che aumenti) di più del 25% da qui al 2016. L'articolo riporta un'opinione dell'Oxford Energy Institute, secondo la quale, questo aumento non sarà sufficiente per soddisfare la domanda di energia dell'economia europea in crescita. Già da quest'inverno ci troveremo in netta carenza di gas.
Forse si sono tutti fumati qualcosa a pensare che l'economia europea potrà mantenere un tasso di crescita qualsivoglia positivo da qui al 2016. Se però intendono che il gas naturale dovrà sostituire - almeno in parte - una fornitura di petrolio in diminuzione, allora ci può anche stare.
Come diceva Churchill, "non sarà per Agosto, e nemmeno per Settembre..." ma a lungo andare, il futuro si presenta un po' buio.

Experts Predict Black-Out Winters in Europe
Russian gas exports to Europe will grow no more than 25 percent and will not surpass 200 billion cu. before 2016, a report of the Oxford Institute of Energy Studies says. Russian is unable to cover a growing energy demand of Europe, and as soon as in 2010 the European Union will face a gas shortage. As early as in winter 2006 it will take its toll on the European energy industry, sparkling power shortfalls, analysts from Cap Gemini says.
